3D Character Poster

I changed the position of those 2 characters as a fighting scene.

And printed it into A3 size with pasting on foam board.

Without lighting.

The object looks solid in perspective view but no light on it.

  1. Ambient

One of the most normal lighting, just like a simple natural lighting, some simple 3D animations for children use this lighting, for example Mickey Mouse 3D.

2. Direction

User can set this kind of lighting from one direction, and the direction can be rotated. The shadow of the object appears when using this lighting.

3. Spot

Spot lighting is like the light in the stage, when using this light, the environment will be dark or chaos, except the lighting area.

I use MAYA to batch render my animation into single frames first.

And then, I use Final Cut Pro to combine the pictures into a video, and add some sound effects.

This is my storyboard of the final animation.

This storyboard is about an American Indian boy walking on his yard, and a mechanic dinosaur suddenly appeared to attack him. Then the boy dodged the attack, use magic power to let all the objects inside of his yard rise up, and killed the mechanic dinosaur.

Environment Texturing

I also use UV map to do the texturing of the environment model.

Because of I need to use this environment model to do my animation, so I made a plane around the yard, to put the background picture.

I found a picture online and used UV map to put it into the background plane.
